The essence of Sally’s work is its energy, vitality and colour. Sally draws her inspiration from the sea, the landscape and wild flowers.
The most successful pieces evolve when she has been able to distil the power, colour and essence of the place or subject, and to communicate her excitement in a three way dialogue between the artist, the work and the viewer.
Her are work begins with observational drawings and notes collected in a small sketchbook which she always carries with her.
The difficulty is always thriving to transpose the magic of a fleeting moment to board orcanvas; the immoveable hard rocks, the invisible air and the ever moving sea.
After a number of years teaching in primary ans secondary schools Sally spent five years studying for a Fine Art honours degree which she completed successfully in 1994.
Sally works in several media including collage, and print, acrylics on canvas and board and silk painting.
