Lee Stevenson is a native of West Cornwall. He trained in oil painting at Falmouth School of Art and at North Staffordshire University, but it was not until returning to Cornwall in 1985 when he met Sue Lewington at the Penzance School of Art, that he took up intaglio printmaking.
He became a founder member of the Penwith Printmakers in 1987. He joined the Cornwall Crafts Association and now continues to exhibit regularly with all three societies as well as with galleries throughout the south-west.
Most of his subject matter reflects nature, especially the nature and landscapes
of Cornwall which is where he grew up and which is still his home.
Group Exhibitions include:-
The Cornwall Wildlife Trust bi-annual exhibitions
The Contemporary Print Show – The Barbican
Twenty Years of Contemporary Art – Falmouth Art Gallery
Elements of Craft – Truro Museum
He designed a lino-block print as the motif for the 18th Celtic Television and Film Festival in St Ives.
There is also a selection of Lee’s cards in the gallery.
