Lincolnshire born watercolourist David Rust studied at Loughborough College of Art for four years in the early 1960’s gaining the National Diploma in Design (N.D.D.)

He has worked as a full time artist since the late 1970’s.   He is a prolific painter who is dedicated to his job.   A great lover of the English Countryside.   Particularly the Welsh border, Herefordshire, The Cotswolds and Cornwall, where he moved in 1990.

The inspiration for his painting comes from constant observation of his surroundings, recorded in sketch books and developed into paintings later on in his studio.

During the 1980’s he had work accepted regularly for the institute of water colour painters exhibitions (R.I.) at the Mall Gallery, London.   He has had regular one man and mixed exhibitions and been resident artist with several galleries in the South and East Midlands and South West Cornwall.
